Best Plays of the NBA Season So Far

The 2012-'13 NBA season is in its infancy, but that hasn't kept the League's best from providing us with some jaw-dropping highlights. Let's take a look at some of the top plays so far.

DUNK: No matter which way you slice it -- be it a short guy climing the ladder to throw one down, or a big dude barreling down on a helpless defender -- dunking is, was and always will be awesome. And it's not just for the young and athletic; old guys occassionally hammer home some vicious jams of their own. For the best dunk of the young season, so far, here is DeAndre Jordan dunking on the Lakers, and kicking the net (!) on his way back down.

BLOCK: Andre Miller is old, slow, and short. Please explain how he was able to sky to block a dunk attempt by Derrick Favors (who is young, quick and very tall)? You can't, so don't even try.

CROSSOVER: So far this season, Jamal Crawford seems to have cornered the market on ankle-breaking moves. However, the honor of the top crossover to date goes to Rudy Gay, who left LeBron James in his wake with a devastating behind-the-back move, followed up by a monster finish.

GAME-WINNER: Nothing in sports is more exciting than a last-second play to win the game. So far, we haven't had too many of those, and the majority happened during the first week of the season. Check out how Tony Parker broke the OKC Thunder's hearts on opening night.

FIGHT: We don't condone violence in this space, but we admit that it is entertaining to watch basketball players pretend to want to fight. They square up, and desperately wait for teammates to step in so that no actual punches are thrown. Case in point: Brandon Jennings vs Bradley Beal.

(Honorable mention: DeMarcus Cousins confronting insufferable San Antonio Spurs homer and TV analyst Sean Elliot.)
